Sharon Art Studio

Sharon Art Studio, the most significant art center in San Francisco, offers opportunities for the public to exhibit their art. Owned by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and Friends of Sharon Art Studio, it is open to people of all ages. Ceramics, jewelry & metal arts, mixed media, glass & glass fusing, and stained glass & jewelry are all available. The studio functions as a venue for learning new arts and friendship building. The Sharon Art Studio members invest in a group of artists who inspire legacy. The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department controls over 220 parks and playgrounds throughout the city. This includes places like Camp Mather in Yosemite Valley and Sharp Park in Pacifica that are not in city jurisdiction. The Department manages 25 recreation centers and nine pools. There are also many ball diamonds and soccer pitches, tennis courts, and many more sports venues. The Sharon Art Studio program is run by the department. Friends of Sharon Art Studio has been running the SFRPD's program for over 30 years on its behalf. Sharon Art Studio employs 45 instructors in a variety of courses such as ceramics, jewelry-making, stained glass, fine art, mixed media, and summer youth intensives. Friends of Sharon Art Studio has over 30 studio teachers. The institution is extremely proud of the high-level teaching team. Our instructors are excellent at nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence in their students. The teachers are an important component of our philosophy.
