The Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley's (IHCSVC) mission is to help ensure the survival and recovery of American Indians/Alaskan Natives and our community by providing high quality, comprehensive health care and wellness services. San Jose, where the hospital is located, rests on the land of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area. The present day Muwekma Ohlone Tribe is comprised of the recognized surviving indigenous people of the San Francisco Bay Area, whose ancestors were members of the historical federally-recognized Verona Band of Alameda County and can trace their history through the missions Dolores, Santa Clara, and San Jose.
