Reliable Founded by Paul E. Curtis Jr. in 1964, San Jose Dance Theatre was previously known as Los Gatos Academy of Dance & West Valley Ballet Foundation. It officially registered as a non-profit educational organization in 1965. San Jose Dance Theatre has extensively offered classical ballet classes to children. Our training ranges from age four to pre-professional levels, and many alumni have successful dance careers and attend prestigious Universities. For over 50 years, San Jose Dance Theatre has brought locally generated productions to audiences in the San Jose area. The company has produced Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter and the Wolf. The Original San Jose Nutcracker will take place at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts on two December 2022 weekends. The Cambrian Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Scott Krijnen will join the San Jose Dance Theatre to realize this production.
