My asylum application was initiated one month later than it should have been, and the reason given to me was that I had not made the initial payment. However, no initial payment had ever been requested from me, and I didn't make any at the time. Finally, they initiated my asylum process after I made the payment. By the ninth month, I had already obtained my Social Security number and work authorization. My final court hearing was scheduled approximately one to one and a half years after my entry into the United States. During the preparation process, there was no direct, one-on-one communication with the attorneys and only after I insisted that I be allowed to speak with them was I able to finally talk detail about my case. I believe that they did not give my case the attention it deserved. During the preliminary preparations, several issues in my file were overlooked. The attorney who attended my court hearing, Miss İnci Akbar, did not seem to give the necessary attention or even effort. She was encoded in a way that she appeared almost absent and was only there at the hearing for the name. Since the hearing was online, there were moments where it appeared she was attending to other matters and not putting in effort to fully represent me and make sure that I get asylum.
