He received his law degree from Empire Law School and his PhD in philosophy from New York University. He published in Nature and System an article entitled "A Neuro – Electromagnetic model of Observational consciousness". He also taught Bioethics and created a Bioethics Committee for California. Mr. Rubenstein represents the Sonoma County Bar Association's criminal law section and is a member of the SCBA Education Committee. A former member of SCBA Judicial Evaluation Committee.
