Client Reviews for The Small Business Law Firm Scott Williams and his team really know what they are doing for their one-and-only type of client -- small business and small business owners. They can do deals, contracts, trademarks, and when things get sticky, litigation, all with a sensibility and cost-effectiveness that small businesses need -- and love. I recommend Scott and his firm to any small business with legal issues. And, if Scott cannot handle the issue himself, he knows many wonderful lawyers and other professionals to whom he can introduce his clients. Great service! Scott Williams Fredericksburg VA and his wonderful team have been assisting my small business for over 5 years! Every question has complicated answers, but he simplifies them so my team and I understand and can move forward with peace of mind. I have had the pleasure of working with Scott Williams for several years on various legal issues. Without exception every issue we had was resolved in an expeditious manner with positive results for our company. Scott is extremely knowledgeable in all legal aspects of business brokerage and our company, Restaurant Realty Company will continue using him in the future when necessary. Scott Williams has been my go to attorney for nearly ten years. I really appreciate the fact that he has worked over the weekend for me on multiple occasions to handle time sensitive issues and has called me back on weekends and evenings when I had important questions. He has written multiple purchase contracts for me, helped settle a lawsuit in my favor before it went to trial, and given me solid personal and business legal advice countless times. He is knowledgeable, honest, and dedicated. It’s good to have an attorney that works as hard as I do. Called me 8am on a Saturday. So rude. It isn’t even about the cost or legal advice… just the shamelessness and the audacity in thinking it’s justified to disrupt someone 8am on a Sat. I can’t imagine how much headache there would be if I choose to work with him. I’m also confused on why he is saying I hung up after hearing the cost, when I clearly told him I need to meet with other store owners regarding this cost to make sure everyone is ok (to which he responded quoting COI but I reassured I’ll be sole official client.) His cost is median in the 5-6 lawyers I called. Maybe it’s a tactic to make his image look better, again self image before admitting his mistake. It would 100% have been a huge difference if he called me during a more reasonable hour, respect goes both ways Scott. I choose not to silence my phone because there might be a family member in an emergency, but maybe that’s something you don’t concern yourself with. Retained Scott to set up my professional corporation and he was amazing. Not only was he incredibly detail oriented and meticulous, but he was quick and efficient. I highly recommend Scott and his firm to anyone considering it. I will not look anywhere else next time I require services of this nature! I have worked with Scott Williams for many years, and have referred a number of clients to him. He has always been professional and responsive, and I would not hesitate to refer my clients to him. I spoke with SW two different times. I wanted to retain his services for the several business acquisitions I had then and now. I proposed a deal at which he respectfully declined (not a problem). I recently approached him AGAIN and took into consideration of what his needs were last time. So I softly proposed some new terms seeing I would be giving him 2 separate deals and I wanted to negotiate the structure of his agreement (His Agreement clearly states its NEOGOTIABLE) "Client and Law Firm are free to negotiate different rates". Which is written in his contract that he provides to clients. Reading this, its clearly open for discussion, WRONG. He insulted me stating why I could not pay for his services and that he is not a finance company. Bad experience second time around, if he would have kept it professional like he had done previously, I would not be writing this review. As you can see from his response below: It was failed to mention that deposits were to be placed on both transactions presented to him. My review is for "prospective clients" to give a recent review in how he speaks with prospective clients. Once again, the response below tried to insult my ability to retain legal services....(legal services were retained because this owner was not the only law firm contacted). The only way I would remove this review is to receive a formal written letter of his apology in how he spoke to me. If this review is still here, it would be realized that this owner chose to not resolve this matter with a formal written apology for his actions and comments to a prospective client. Which would be slightly unheard of seeing it is a small business law firm that should be held accountable at the highest level for professionalism and interaction across all fields of business from first contact and how he presents himself and responds. You decide.
