Dr. Hile has been deployed several times to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. He continues to serve as a Reserve Army Officer. While serving as a surgeon with the U.S. SpecialOperationsForces, he was awarded the Bronze Star in recognition of his superior service. Before leaving Yale University to concentrate on innovative, evidence-based approaches to pain management, Dr. Hile served as an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine. His multidisciplinary approach to pain management is effective and long-lasting. He is also a member of American Academy of Procedural Medicine
