Budget Truck Rental

Customer feedback summary: 1. Great service-truck was clean and fueled-Phil was the expert on site!! Easy return options and refund of unused deposit was quickly returned... Pick these guys every time. 2. Couldn't help me with a lift gate truck so what they say online is a total lie .!! 3. DO NOT RENT A BUDGET TRUCK!!! They rented us an UNSAFE VEHICLE! The vehicle had a broken axle, a welded rim (huge safety hazard) and it had a WHOLE LUG MISSING AND A NUT THAT WASN’T A LUG NUT!! This is a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!!!! To make matters worse, Budget made no effort to put us in a safer vehicle or even make it right by simply covering the cost of having to reschedule my movers after being stuck on the side of the road for hours because they refused to simply bring a new unit to swap out. I don’t care the savings. No person should be put in an unsafe situation because a company wants to save money. 4. We went with insurance from budget, drove a 14ft van from CO to ME, the van has a governor limiting you to 75mph and exterior was a little banged up but everything arrived safely, we had no problems with the van and were not charged anything more than they quoted us. The woman who helped check us out at this location was extremely nice and straightforward. We were worried about the tolls as we could only use e-tolls on some of our journey but they only charged us the daily $5 fee for a total around $35, which was again in the rental contract. We had a great experience and highly recommend. 5. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! Absolutely SHADY SHADY SHADY. First of all you rent it from a muffler shop, already hesitant from the beginning and then they say to drop it off after hours and it will be good WRONG. We filled it up and followed all of their directions and then we get stuck with a $40 charge for not putting fuel in it?!! We call and go back and forth between them and "customer service". They proceed to treat us like we are lying and then they finally say well "too much time has passed at this point to do anything or give you any refunds, sorry." it has been 10 days. We thought the charge was just because they had not refunded our deposit yet. I guess they found a way to scam their money in another way. So our $49.00 rental turned into $100 and they are just "sorry". SHADY.
