CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School

Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School (GHAA) is a magnet high school specialized in the arts, catering to Hartford and its suburbs. GHAA High School students can design their path in the arts by choosing from a selection of courses that are combined with a high school’s traditional curriculum. Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts is located in Hartford’s Colt Gateway. These premises offer a sense of community that children can use to create and learn. Here, musicians can rehearse, designers can design graphics, writers can write, and dancers can perform, and filmmakers can shoot. The rooms include science labs, academic classrooms with state-of-the-art classroom technologies, and art spaces. Film and sound studios are available, as are dance studios and music practice rooms. Actor spaces and dancer studios can also be found throughout. A selection of art classes is included in the regular school day. Students can choose the classes they like in the courses to create a route for their creativity and exploration. Classes are taught by professional Artists Instructors.
