Richard J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts is the setting for our narrative. This narrative is based on The Little Engine that Could. The Kinsella cast of characters is made up of students. Each has a distinct personality and talent. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts provides the instructional framework for the performance season. Every student is expected to perform in one or more performances each year or contribute to those performances by participation in the backstage production. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts’ instructional system is a program of rigorous training. Kinsella School provides a comprehensive curriculum of learning and an active production schedule that requires students to perform in one or more productions each year. We are perpetually trying to establish an educational culture in which we promote the development of critical, artistic, and independent thinking. Kinsella is more than a learning environment. It is an experience! Our “feeling,” whether you are touring the school, attending a school function, or attending one of the many performances we have to offer, is unique. We have a threefold approach to our strategic foundation: comprehensive training, cultural exposure, and the arts. We use performing arts to make academic matter engaging and relevant for our students.
