Customer Feedback Summary: I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Went yesterday while trying to sign in with my stepsister's guest pass without her there. As a 16-year-old, I was unaware that I needed a parent or guardian there to sign the waiver. Instead of respectfully explaining the situation to me, the employee helping me brought over a manager, possibly named Nick. He immediately spoke to me in a condescending manner. I understand rules are rules, and I had no issue following them once they were explained. However, I felt the way I was spoken to was completely unnecessary. During this conversation, the manager also pointed his finger in my face and told me not to speak to him a certain way. This only escalated the situation and made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. After this, I stayed quietly near the front desk while waiting for my step-sister and cousin, who were working out at the time. I later left briefly to get food and returned. When I politely asked another employee if I could use the restroom because I urgently needed to, she said that the manager said I was not allowed because I was under 18 and would have to go elsewhere. I respected that decision, left, came back, and continued waiting. Later, while my step-sister sat with me waiting, and we were discussing something entirely unrelated to the gym, the same manager approached me and accused me of "talking smack" about him. He told me I needed to leave and also falsely accused me of taking pictures of him. This interaction became unnecessarily confrontational, and he eventually told my step-sister that he had called the police on me. Overall, the issue isn't just the rules but the lack of professionalism, respect, and maturity by the management. Customers, especially minors, can still be treated courteously and respectfully. This could have been handled calmly and professionally from the start, but it became hostile and uncomfortable. Management needs improvement. Equipment is decent enough and there's a solid variety of classes, but it gets way too crowded during peak hours. It's alright for a quick workout, but a handful more machines would be nice. Still, it's cleaner than Bob's Gym, which has been around since before I was born. One of the desks is the SICKEST desk I've ever seen, and the rest of the place is pretty clean, too.   Planet Fitness is a chain of fitness centers in the United States and Canada. Located on New Britain ave in West Hartford, Planet Fitness is a great addition to the town. The gym has taken over the former Hibachi Restaurant and the Hometown Buffet next to Joey'z Shopping Spree. Also inside this is a total body enhancement machine, but within these doors is a red light therapy machine. I very much like the service. It is excellent and exclusive. I liked it so clean Great gym And new equipment It is so dirty and smelly, they need to clean their gym People just hang around machines forever without concern for others Decent PF, as far as equipment goes. Probably agree with the comments about the rude staff. Doesn't matter to me much since it's not my home PF, thankfully. Younger, dark skinned Black guy should find a job that doesn't require customer service. During this visit, the club does not feel safe. Especially when there is just one person in the front, and we don't know the staff could be at the back. There was a guy playing loud music in the locker room, and it was the same song on repeat. I must have heard the song over five times. It was so loud and annoying. I didn't feel safe. Big, nice, clean, and great massage chairs. My brother Tried to shower after a work out and someone grabbed his towel and walked out. He was forced to get out naked and wet and when he asked for help or if someone had cleaned the bathroom the employees refused to lift a finger to help or even just check the cameras to see who stole the towel he PAID FOR . Staff was unhelpful and could care less. Better protections need to be in place to avoid this and management should be ashamed for not treating this with urgency or seriousness as a human being was publicly humiliated and left exposed completely nude due to the lack of staff awareness. Shame on planet fitness for blowing this off UPDATE: I spoke with Nick who identified himself as the "manager" he refused to provide the district managers number or even an email for his corporate boss. He then refused to hear me out after asking what " over a towel? What was i supposed to do" I told him it was very important that he protect his club members and he should have looked into the situation to identify which club member had done this and to protect future club members from being humiliated and exposed while nude he then hung up on me and refused to give me any information for someone else to speak with. I would advise going against this location as you may end up naked in a locker room with no towel and all your personal belongings. amazing planet fitness experience with the high school membership but not even a week before it ends or school starts. I get confronted over something that had Happened over a month ago due to complications with protein milk? Weird how me and my gym partner didn’t intentionally clog the toilet with expired muscle milk we did clean it but not to the persons desire. So from not intentionally clogging the toilet over a month ago with a Protein shake I got my membership BANNED, because someone didn’t like that they had to clean the clogged toilet. I totally understand on my part but horrible experience near the end of the month of August. I've been very satisfied with my first week working out at this gym. The service from all the receptionists at the times I'm there is excellent. They're happy people, and that brightens our day and motivates us. There's an Arab woman and a Brazilian woman who are very friendly. The guy is also very polite and kind. The gym's facilities are fantastic.
