Hogar CREA International of Florida, Inc. is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and alcoholism. With over 50 years of experience, the organisation has made significant contributions to the field. Hogar CREA was founded in 1968 by Juan Jose Garcia Rios, Trujillo alto (Puerto Rico). The organization was established on the idea of mutual support, self-effort, responsibility, and individual accountability. Hogar CREA stands for “Home and community for the re-education of persons with addictions” in Spanish, which is a fitting acronym. Hogar CREA, Inc. operates several facilities in the US, Puerto Rico, Central and South America, the Caribbean. In the US, there are three facilities: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Orlando and Jacksonville have two centers in Florida. Hogar CREA offers its residents and program participants a comfortable and homelike atmosphere. Residents receive Peer-led intervention and support from our staff. This approach helps them develop character qualities that help them accept responsibility for their lives. Hogar CREA believes that every human being is born with an instinct to self-respect. Hogar CREA believes that self-respect is a living thing, and requires constant care until it can stand up to all the challenges that life throws at us. Dissatisfaction with oneself is the result of any disturbance to individual self-worth.
