Kent Sullivan Art Studio comes with an impressive array of contemporary landscape painting pieces. Kent Sullivan, one of the world's contemporary landscape painters, was born and raised in Colorado before moving to Florida in 1982. He did this after winning the National Koshare Kiva Art Competition. He has painted landscapes and marine scenes in watercolor and oil. His work is highly sought after by private and corporate art collectors, among them Smithsonian Institute, NASA, Mayo Clinic, and Ritz Carlton. He has also worked with Sun Bank, Disney, and CNL. Critics have constantly praised his work. According to Laura Stewart Dishman, "Kent's landscape effectiveness can be attributed, in part to its inspirational subject and its realism but more so to the artist’s use of an old and successful romantic landscape painting tradition. The artist is constantly studying artists like Moran, Turner and Beirstadt." Gayle Williams, Sarasota Arts Review, writes: "What moved me most was his ability to capture the fleeting interactions between clouds, the sun, and the earth through his subtle use of color and gesture." Bob Schulman, curator of NASA's collection, commends the works of Kent because they are "...inspired, beautiful, and few artists can achieve." Many of his paintings showcase such serene and beautiful natural sceneries: Sunset over marshes. Karen Jones, Director Cummer Art Museum, says that Kent is one of Florida's best landscape painters. He has exhibited great mastery of the subtlety, dappled sunlight of dawn over a hammock of grass and the brilliant light show of the sunset on the marshes by using delicate brushwork. Two of his books, "Art of the National Parks", and "Picturing Florida", have been published. His work has been featured in several museums and he's also had large-scale installations commissioned. In his career, Kent Sullivan has been featured on television shows, magazine articles, and artist publications. He has judged art contests and spoken at art events on landscape painting techniques.
