Dr. Sims served as Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology and Syphilology at Wayne State University from 1986-1987. In 2001 she was named Clinical Instructor of Dermatology in Wayne State School of Medicine. She received certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners. Alexandra Coad earned her Doctorate of Nurse Practice in Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Florida Gainesville, Gainesville, Florida. She proudly boasts being a "double Gator," having gotten her BSN in Nursing in 2016 at the University of Florida. Dr. Alex transitioned to dermatology from working in plastic surgery for over three years. After being trained by Dr. Carol Sims Robertson, she came to work with us part-time to practice both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Alex grew up in St. Pete and enjoys being back there, caring for patients, and educating them on skin health practices and sun safety.
