Dog Training Club of Tampa, Inc

Established in 1959 by volunteers, DTCT is Tampa's most visited dog training club. The schedule is regularly updated with new classes, check our website for the most recent availability. Basic Obedience classes are open to puppies who have completed the puppy course. You can keep working on obedience skills if you have already completed a puppy course or have a dog over a year old who has never been in an obedience course. The class revisits sit, down, and come. Exercises may include heeling, fast and slow heeling, turning, healing while turning, long sits and downs, and recalls over large distances. Students can advance to Advanced Basic after graduating from Basic. The course is for owners who want to advance their basic course. Advanced Basic is a seven-week course that builds on basic mental habits. It is recommended that you speak with your basic obedience teacher to make sure you are equipped to move on to Advanced Basic.
