Lindsay Peterson, a Doctor of Gerontology, spoke on behalf of the Gerontological Society of America at a focus group. Healthcare Ready funded this research under the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act of 2019. The goal of this focus group was to understand the preparedness and response activities and stopgap requirements of stakeholders collaborating with and supporting assisted and adult living communities. Dr. Peterson recently authored a paper entitled "You just Forge Ahead: The Continuing Challenges to Disaster Preparedness in Long-Term Care Innovations in Aging" about how to manage and prepare for disasters in assisted living facilities and nursing homes
