Charlotte Smith Hand, MD completed her residency in dermatology in North Florida. She passed the American Board of Dermatology exam and became board-certified. Her studies focused on the early detection and prevention of skin cancer. She also trained in cosmetic, general, and surgical dermatology. Dr. Hand received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a 4.0 summa culaude from the University of Georgia. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in Macon and Columbus, Georgia, from Mercer University School of Medicine. She co-founded the Dermatology Specialty Interest Group. She earned distinction at medical school and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed three years of dermatology training and one year of internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She has presented at many regional and national conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and Georgia Congress of Clinical Dermatology. She has been featured in several national dermatology publications. Dr. Hand is well-versed in adult, pediatric, and surgical dermatology. She loves learning new treatments and techniques by attending continuing medical education opportunities to give the best care to her patients. Dr. Hand enjoys spending time with Carson, her college sweetheart and husband, and their Cockapoo Winnie. They enjoy their time on the lake, traveling with friends and family, and cheering on the Dawgs in Athens on fall Saturdays. Dr. Hand grew up in the CSRA and is excited to continue her passion for dermatology and patient care in her hometown.
