Customer Service from Spencer I really don’t like giving negative reviews, As of matter of fact, This is only my 2nd time in my life doing a review. This place is absolutely horrible, Unprofessional, and Dishonest. prior to having my truck towed to TRUE AUTOMOTIVE in Decatur, I talked to Spencer over the phone. I was absolutely honest to him about everything that was going on with my truck. Told him that other mechanics looked at it and couldn’t figure out the issue. I also told him the work that I had done to it. Spencer told me it was okay to have my vehicle towed in, & That they were willing to take a look at my truck. I then began asking a few questions regarding their electrical diagnostic equipment. Spencer began telling me how good of techs and mechanics that they have and the amount of money that has been put into the facility! So I began thinking to myself that this place sounds awesome. So I get my truck towed in, And as we arrived, i see Tons and tons of vehicles, So many that the tow guy struggled finding a spot to drop my truck off. I brushed that off because i am understanding to certain things. So after my truck gets dropped down into the yard, i informed 1 of their techs that my panel on my steering wheel is off, and that i took it off, and not to worry about it. The tech replied “Ok man no Problem “ My vehicle was dropped off on 2/13/26 and on 2/20/20026, i received a call from a guy named Wesley. Wesley made mention that a basic inspection was done on my vehicle and that further testing would cost me money. And that he feel it’s best that i take my truck somewhere else & That they would tow it back to my home for free. That conversation ended. After thinking over some things, i called back and Wesley answered the phone. I asked, May i get a copy of the things that were checked, and why wasn’t i offered additional diagnostics. I told him i was willing to pay. So Wesley began saying, “Sir We are towing your vehicle back to you, it’s free” and he constantly brought up the amount that they charge for diagnostics. He did it in a way to discourage me, He was being really weird and constantly cutting me off on the phone. So we get off the phone and i attempted to call back so that i could possibly speak to someone else, & Wesley didn’t answer the phone. So i had my sister call from her phone and Wesley then answered. I also told Wesley to have Spencer give me a call, And that never happened. Me and my wife went up to True Automotive with attempt to get a document in which the diagnostics that were performed. Wesley told me that their weren’t anything he could give me and that the mechanic did not have a list. He also threatened to call the police on me, For absolutely no reason. My truck was never even checked by true automotive, That’s why they didn’t have a document to show me. I can prove that they didn’t check anything on my truck. I also asked them numerous times to leave my battery terminals off of my battery due to a parasitic draw that i have. But once my truck arrived from the tow, The terminals were left on. This place talks a good game in the beginning, This place is absolutely horrible and i wouldn’t go back even if i were offered free repairs. LADIES AND GENTS, PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!! They saved me from a disappointment, $5000 lemon, and a frozen day on the side of the highway. They are honest and want you to be satisfied. They ended up not even charging me, because the vehicle had so many “hidden” defects. -Matthew M.  Diagnostic First time using these guys , very nice waiting room . The procedure was very informative and I actually got to go in the shop to see the problem with the tech , they are a little expensive but their work is excellent so you get what you pay for I would have given them a 5 star but they were not as communicative as I would of liked . Overall I will be using them again for sure -Dana P. Really Cared about Us There are no Automotive repair shops on earth that care more for their customers than Tru Automotive, Decatur, GA. It starts from the top with General Manager, Mitch. The staff are equally caring, with special care given to us by staff rep. Nicholas. What a top notch organization. -Valencia T. Happy Customer I will be coming back to TRUE Automotive in Decatur. They did such a good job, very quick and professional. I didn’t feel pressured to add on a bunch of unnecessary services and they even recommended against a service I had requested as it wasn’t needed yet. -AmaraHN Extremely disappointed I was a faithful customer with true auto for about 5 years now started with the lawrenceville location then came to Decatur when Eric was still working here and honesty was a part of this brand which is no longer the case..I took my car here while I went on vacation for them to fix my headlights for the second time and my horn, the first time they said they couldn’t figure it out… this time they called and told me I needed 2 new headlights totaling 5k and also a $800 wire diagnoses because the wiring on my headlights were bad from age…if you want me to get 2 new headlights why would you need to diagnose the wiring when new wiring would come with the new headlights you suggested? so when the rep called I told him the only thing they needed to do was change out the wiring harness on my passenger side and replace the ballast and bulb on the drivers side along with the wiring harness, the rep suggested I talk to the tech because what I was saying was a foreign language to him I told him I was out of town when I got back I would be able to do that….when I got there I was told they don’t even do that and the tech wasn’t even there ….to sum up this story they were caught lying about what work needed to be done 5k for new headlights is what I was quoted when $75 each for wiring harnesses and $300 for a new ballast and light bulb which was what parts went bad but instead they had my car for a week with nothing completed not even the oil change I asked they have completed by the time I got there to talk to the tech, they let me drive away with a car without a working horn or working headlights if that doesn’t scream I don’t care about the safety of my customers I don’t know what does….Believe the bad reviews these guys are scam artist that barely know about the cars that they work on they also said my car had a lot of codes but if they even checked the records of the work that has been done at their shop previously on this car they would have known a simple speed sensor replacement that I do every year or 2 on my back rear passenger side tire was the source of the codes and replacing that would take care off all those codes…. do not give them any of your money find another place I honestly believe they purchase google reviews to keep their google average high but with the recent bad reviews that all sound like a similar experience I had they won’t be able to keep up… I hope this review saves someone some time and frustration
