Brian McConkey Photography I acquired a Pentax K1000 when I was 11 years old from a local camera shop, sparking my passion for photography. Jackson had a local camera shop where I bought the camera. Life Magazine was my favorite magazine back then. It was full of journalistic landscape and portrait photography. The Pentax was my first camera that was useful for college newspapers and yearbook pictures. John H. White, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and photo journalist, inspired me to become a professional photographer. His advice was to take the cap off your camera, and not use it again. A camera is always with you. I became a professional photographer in 1992. In 1992, Brian McConkey Photography started doing actor headshots. Over that time, I had 10 years of black and white photography to hone my lighting skills before switching to digital photography. I want to make you feel comfortable when I take your photo. By doing so, you can show your personality, and I can capture the photo when I see something unique in your eyes or facial expression, making you look great.

Reviews of Brian McConkey's photography work seen to be overwhelmingly positive. Several customers mention his excellent work, kindness, and professionalism during their sessions. Many of his customers cited Brian's ability to put them at ease as one of the reasons why their photos came out so well. This is confirmed by their comments, and the photos' results, show surprising expressions of themselves that I rarely capture even in my personal phone photos. It is clear that most clients who work with Brian highly recommend him, and will likely come back for repeat sessions. Would recommend him to others who are in need of a photographer since he is very professional and his prices are great. He has amazing energy that made the photoshoot fun and comfortable. Next time you are in Chicago, stop at his studio.
