Polsky Exchange North

The Polsky Exchange was opened in October 2013, after the Polsky Center was renovated. It was made possible by a gift from the Polsky family and the Michael P. Polsky Revocable Trust. The Polsky Exchange is a 34,000-square-foot hub for members of the UChicago innovation ecosystem to use as a co-working space, to hold meetings, and to participate in classes and events. In the two years since its opening, the Polsky Exchange has served 500+ members from 350+ groups. The Exchange also includes the Blackstone Charitable Foundation Blackstone LaunchPad, an initiative that supports aspiring entrepreneurs. Participants learn about entrepreneurship, access mentors, develop connections, and obtain resources to help their ventures succeed. This program has served 2,000+ students and 4,500+ events have been held at the Polsky Exchange, serving 15,000+ customers. The Chicago Innovation Exchange was a key piece of the University of Chicago's Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative (I&E Initiative), which was launched in 2012 to advance the university's leadership and participation in the start-up and technology-transfer marketplaces.
