Semper Laser

I waited to write this review so I could clear my thoughts and give my honest, clear opinion. I don’t trust Semper Laser so much that I chose to pay a $500 contract termination fee rather than go through any more treatments with them. I went to Semper Laser initially for a free small area because I am a founding member at a partnering small business. During my first treatment everyone was very nice and welcoming, the facility felt clean, and well organized. I have very light blonde hair so I was skeptical about if laser hair removal would work for me but decided to try the free area (underarms). The tech was very nice and said it’s usually a good sign if you can smell the hair burning (which we did). It didn’t hurt too badly at all, just felt like a cool burst with some little shock zaps. The trouble started after the session when they make you meet with a sales agent under the premise of checking how your treatment went. Although I mentioned multiple times that I was skeptical it would work for me Alvina assured me that if we smelled burning it was working. I was given pricing for a monthly plan for an additional medium area (bikini). When asked if it was discounted if you pay up front she said she could do that but that offer would not be available if I didn’t sign before leaving that day. When again mentioning I wasn’t sure it would work she discounted further - it ended up at $1800 total for 12 sessions of bikini + 2 additional sessions on the free small area. She was very nice, but also writes on her desk upside down and goes quickly so it’s easy to confuse you and convince you to buy. Since it was later in the day (Thursday) I needed to come back the next week for the first treatment on my bikini. To my surprise, I got a text message from Semper Laser (Tuesday) for an end of month sale at 40% off. I immediately called the office asking to speak to Alvina to see if they could honor the sale - the front desk said they were sure they could since I hadn’t had any sessions in that new area. When I finally got in touch with a sales agent (Amanda Racca), she said there was no way to honor it and it is what it is or I can pay the 30% fee and cancel. I took a few hours and called back to cancel when she then said she was authorized to give me a partial refund (not the difference in the promo). At this point I was disgusted with the way she spoke to me and how the company was handling the situation and did not want to do business with them. I had to pull teeth to get the refund form, and confirmation that they received the form which even then was not guaranteed (hence why I waited to write the review until after). I do not trust Semper Laser to do the right thing, and would never recommend going to them for any service - if anything goes wrong they will always cover themselves first and you’re left in the wind. On top of all of this, the hair never fell out of my armpit after the session like they promised. Thank god I cancelled.
