Following the crash of his B-52 aircraft near enemy lines, Ernie, a Russian soldier/engineer, was stranded. Evelyn married Ernie, who later joined the father's company. When the couple became parents, they had two children, Russell and Mark, who would later join the company. Years later, Lazar Fuel Company started adding fuel oil to their delivery product list.
