Swooft was established by Sarah Homan, who struggled to find a solution. She lived in far northwest Chicago and had no access to a service that could help her take care of Allie, her 8-year-old collie. It was a challenge to identify a reliable dog walker for her lengthy commute and long hours at work. It was also difficult to identify a reliable pet care provider in the area. Sarah resigned from her job as a technology recruiter in October 2015 to create the business. Her view and mission at Swooft have evolved to provide high-quality pet care and a better life for pets and their owners.
