I have been going to Martin's service since they opened 9 years ago and am sad to not be close enough anymore to use them. They've helped me with 2 of my cars while taking into consideration my budget and time. Kyle even gave me feedback on listings of cars I wanted to buy (and I bought the one he recommended!). They've done everything from keeping my old cars engine alive so I could save up for a new one to servicing my new car with routine maintenance. Well to start, I was leaving the Chicago O'Hare International Airport when my car, (that I got a few months ago), began overheating. Long story short, I was three hours away from my home, did not know anyone in the Elgin area, let alone a mechanic. I went to the reviews of mechanic shops in the area, and I saw a lot of reviews saying "I have taken my car here for x amount of years" and "I don't trust anyone else with my vehicle" in reference to Martin's Auto Service. This shop was probably the cleanest auto shop I have ever been in, had very comfortable seats and couches (I think you guys do a very good job furnishing with the space you have), and had free snacks and beverages that the customer is allowed to get as much of, whenever they wanted to, at their convenience. It is the small things that matter. I would recommend adding a charger or two to outlets for customers to use, though I am sure theft is a concern. (They did let me use a charger when I asked, but this is a convenience recommendation) They did great and quick work on my car. Every worker was respectful, listened, and answered all questions with patience. I unfortunately had to wait overnight for my car (but this is no fault of a mechanic. How can anyone expect a mechanic to look at, diagnose, and fix a vehicle in one day. Truthfully, they would have fixed my vehicle same day, but a part had to be ordered.) They will cover your uber if you need a hotel in Elgin.... Prices are reasonable in my opinion and are generally what I expected. The diagnosis fee is not included if you choose to get your vehicle repaired, so keep that in mind. I do not plan on needing a mechanic in the Elgin area anytime soon again, but I will definitely go here in the future if I do! 14. We had excellent service At Martin auto service. Joe at the front desk was wonderful to work with. He explained everything that was wrong with the van that they looked at and took great care of us. I felt like their care for us and the quality of work that they did was super genuine compared to a lot of auto shops that we could’ve gone to. We were super pleased with everyone here, they truly went above and beyond! 15. I came to this shop because I was having car trouble and needed my car back quickly since I’m not from Illinois and was here for an internship before heading back home. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Joe Wiekierak made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. He even offered me Uber rides to and from the shop given my situation, and despite it being close to closing time, they still took the time to fix what they could on my car. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Great people, great service, and genuinely good intentions behind everything they do. Love this place.
