Chase Near East Side Legacy began in 1971 when a group of Near Eastside of Indianapolis neighbors recognized the need for a neighborhood center. John Boner, Richard Moore, and the help of the community, set up an office in East 10th Street. From there, the Near Eastside Multi-Service Center was created. This philosophy has continued to inform our work as we develop programs and services to address the changing needs of our neighborhood. In 1994, to honor John Boner's contributions to the neighborhood, the Near Eastside Multi-Service Center was renamed John Boner Neighborhood Centers.
