Gilliatte General Contractors began as a local contractor in Indianapolis over three decades ago. It has since become a multi-state licensed contractor with an office in Indianapolis, Indiana and 38 other states. As such, we have an office in Indianapolis, Indiana since our founding in 1985, plus offices in 38 other states. Our EPA certification and OSHA training reveal our craftsmanship and dependability. Gilliatte General Contractors was started in a garage in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1985 by Gerry Gilliatte with a $10,000 personal loan. Gerry Gilliatte retired in 2004 and sold his 51% interest in the firm to his son Adam Gilliatte and his partner, Tom Ritman who is currently president of the company. Adam and Tom have been the firm's owners since 2004 when they purchased the company from Gerry. Both Adam and Tom are second-generation contractors who learned the trade from their fathers. The basic fundamentals for both gentlemen were from Gerry’s unwavering philosophy of “do your best on all jobs and treat everybody like family.” Many consider Gilliatte General Contractors as one of the most respected general contractors in the Midwest. Our operations have outgrown the ambitious beginnings even though they started with just two employees. Today, Gilliatte has a workforce with more than 50 employees who are all skilled and experienced.
