COMPANY FOUNDING Henry C. Onochie, AIA, NCARB, founded HCO, Inc., an architectural and engineering corporation, in Indianapolis, in 1989. The firm initially operated as a one-man establishment in Mr. Onochie's residence. Fully owned by Mr. Onochie, the firm incorporated in 1990. HARD BEGINNINGS A few months after incorporation, Mr. Onochie realized minority companies with short tenures did not easily access financing from the banking industry among other myriad of challenges. These challenges would have deterred other entrepreneurs. However, they did not stop Mr. Onochie. They instead became more reason to overcome the odds. HCO Begins With Small Projects HCO, Inc., began with small government and private projects. The range of the projects the firm has undertaken has grown from a mere $2 million to a $55 million project. These projects included modernization of the Public Safety Building, and many other local public buildings, as well as design of several residential and commercial private properties. HCO'S TEAM Now more than 25 professionals strong, HCO personnel represent the same dedication to quality and customer service that founded the firm. Their collaboration brings tremendous amounts of architectural, engineering, and design knowledge and experience to every successful project.
