About this business
L.W. Paschall founded Paschall Truck Lines in 1937. He married Mary Frank Paschall in the same year. Using a Ford 1936 truck, he started and hauled anything and everything to make a living. As Paschall Truck Lines continued to expand its shipping services, L.W.'s pioneering spirit eventually led to the creation of a family legacy. L.W. Paschall began transitioning from a general freight carrier operating between Louisville-St. Louis-Memphis to an irregular carrier by truckload with 31 eastern states connected in 1982. PTL's amazing growth led to the company serving the entire continental U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico by 1986.
Interstate Personnel Services, Inc. acquired Transport Distribution Company, a dry van-load carrier in Joplin, MO (TDC). Larry Kloeppel founded TDC in 1985. IPS emphasized its acquisition of TDC's impressive safety records, quality drivers and employees, and strong customer relations. Regan Stephens, TDC's President, will still run the company. Operating independently under the IPS banner, TDC will retain its name and focus on delivering excellent regional service to customers in the Midwest and Central USA. TDC's emphasis on safety and quality service to truckload shippers is what we needed as we increase our capacity and improve.
IPS President Dave Gibbs stated, “We expect this to be a very favorable transaction with minimal revenue churn as TDC retains their name and current management team. We're going to help Regan's team realize the benefits of scale and leverage some synergies.”
Regan Stephens commented, “It was time for some of our family to retire from TDC. The geography of our companies was perfect. And I knew Dave Gibbs. And I trusted him because I kept realizing why he deserved my trust during our negotiations. The fact that ESOP was available to TDC employees was a big benefit. And these are some of the many reasons we made this work for our workers.”
