Feedback Review- A store that I regularly go to has totally changed its customer base and stopped selling firearms and related items. I chose to eat there when they were not busy and went in with my family. They no longer had any fishing gear, not even fishing bait and other gadgets. It was very disappointing, and I left the store in disbelief. I will never shop in a Dick’s store again because they do not want me as a customer. I am an outdoorsman, and I buy a lot of hunting and fishing gear here. Public Service Announcement: awful and hostile situation for people of color. I was already a fan of this store, and I have purchased different shoes, gloves, training kits, and backpacks for my softball team from them. All my former shopping experiences were seamless. I went shopping with my sister and sister-in-law and we are all African-American women. As we were shopping, six employees were crowding the entrance and watching us. After some minutes, I demanded to know why we were being watched instead of being helped. The lady I believed was the manager asked if we needed a diaper change room which could be a bit offensive because we were mature women. I assumed we needed help on the available colors, sizes, and prices. After telling her this, she walked away and started using her phone. One of the employees at the desk remembered that we regularly shop there and spend a lot of money in the store. When we left, I never turned back. The behavior of that store illustrates that African Americans are not welcome. I will look for another reliable spot as I prepare for my birthday. I am sharing my experience to caution other people of color to avoid such a store. Absolutely incredible company! I was sold a Yeti cooler but got home and found out it did not have a drain plug. I came back looking for one, and the staff gave me one for free. I also received a $10 gift card for the inconvenience and the replace were very cordial and welcoming as they sorted me. Thank you (Andrea?) and the others who helped me. My cooler was kept for me at the entrance when I called to ask if they had one in stock. I had initially tried getting one from another store across the street, but the reception was not encouraging. However, because of the exceptional services I received, I feel like I am now a part and parcel of this store. That’s how to handle customers and makes them feel at home. Thank you DICK'S Sporting Goods and keep up with the good works. Additional Information a. Negative Review: Employees were spying on me and my friends as we shopped. The store lost all its shopping fun because we could not shop peacefully. No one dared to touch anything as the employees were always standby watching us. I will not shop here anymore. b. Negative Review: The employees were not very welcome because we walked around the whole store looking for what we wanted. We were not welcome, and the employees were busy doing their things. No one offered to assist even when we demanded help. The employees need good customer service training to avoid losing customers. c. Negative Review: I bought a pair of shoes that were fitting me so I went back to exchange them, but the cashier wouldn’t accept the exchange because he claimed the shoes had developed some stains. That was wrong because the issue was with the shoe’s label not the shoe itself. I will try to reach the management to get my shoes exchanged.
