de Leon & Primmer Architecture Workshop was set up by Roberto de Leon, FAIA, NCARB and LEED AP, co-founding principals. He has a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University and a bachelor of arts in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. Ross also has a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University and a philosophy and architecture degree from Kent State University. Roberto and Ross are educators who lectured at numerous universities on their studio's design methodology and projects. They have taught design studios as adjunct professors at universities such as Syracuse University School of Architecture and University of Kentucky College of Design. Roberto was a panelist at the Mayors' Institute On City Design in 2012 (MICD), a nationwide advisory conference for U.S. Mayors on their cities’ planning. Ross is a member of the Louisville Metro Government’s Landmark Commission and also participates in several cultural-related urban focus groups, planning committees, and citieswide strategic focus group discussions. The de Leon & Primmer Architecture Workshop is a collaborative design studio that creates projects for public use customized to their unique contexts. de Leon & Pemma Architecture Workshop (DPAW) is a studio that draws its inspiration from local craft and construction traditions. It underscores the relevance of traditional materials and construction techniques, with an appreciation for context-specificity through research and investigation. The Workshop embraces a design strategy focused on simplicity and precision within the contemporary architectural context. Innovation typically leads to economic benefits, therefore, this approach guarantees systemic efficiency. DPAW projects probe the interplay between global and indigenous building traditions.
