Centre Stage School of Dance

Christy began dancing at the age of 4 at Benjamin's School of Dance and Gymnastics. Twelve years later, she completed her dance training. After two years of student-teacher training, Christy began teaching at Benjamin's. She taught Ballet, Jazz, and Tap classes. Christy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. She also received a Master's degree from Texas Southern University and a doctorate from the University of Holy Cross. Our mission is to create a fun and safe learning environment for children to have the opportunity to be creative through dance while experiencing an increase in self-esteem. We promote discipline and teamwork in an atmosphere of excellence. We believe in establishing a mentor relationship with each student. This class will teach students classic ballet moves while also improving their strength, poise, and grace. Teaching techniques include floor, barre, and center exercises. The sounds emitted from their shoes will help students learn to dance in rhythmic movements. This will improve the sharp precision. This class enhances coordination and rhythm. The class features warm-ups, techniques, and combinations on the floor. The class is full of high energy and fun. It involves unique footwork and dance moves. It teaches originality and creativity.
