Dance and Children are a passion of two sisters who were born and raised in Houston. We have been working with children for over 20 years and are currently in the education system. Dance is a way for us to show our creative side and express ourselves. The goal of our program is to provide each student with this experience and to have fun doing it. We are specialists in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet but also include Modern, Hip-Hop, and Creative Movement in our curriculum. The class will reinforce the basics of bar work to help students develop correct alignment and classic techniques. The class prerequisite is that students must pass an exam demonstrating a thorough understanding and knowledge of arabesque, epaulement, and all other positions. The student must be able to perform a pirouette and understand the a-la-seconde turn. They are also working towards mastering their execution. This level shows no sign of improper technique, such as hip-raising or sickling. Students are also able to control their body and their limbs.
