Gregory Schramel, Marjorie Hardwick Schramel, and Marjorie Schramel founded NOBT in 2002. Its mission was to give local dancers the opportunity to have a career as ballet professionals. This ambition is fulfilled, and it continues to grow. NOBT has grown into Louisiana’s premier ballet company. It has become the center for classical and contemporary dance throughout the Gulf Coast Region for 20 years. Now that the company is professionally managed, its primary goal is to benefit the New Orleans community. This includes offering dance classes and incredible shows for residents of all ages. NOBT's mission is to become the Gulf South’s leading residential ballet company, deserving its reputation as an international leader in world-class performance, innovative choreography, and outstanding professional education. This will help our community and expand dance access.
