Hazel's Dance Academy

Two siblings from Houston who were born and raised in Houston are passionate about dancing and children. We have over 20 years of experience working with children and currently work in the education system. Dance allows us to exhibit our creative side and express ourselves. The primary aim of our program is to offer every student this opportunity while enjoying the activity. We excel in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet, although we also teach Modern, Hip-Hop, and Creative Movement in our curriculum. The class intends to review the bar work fundamentals needed to ensure that students learn proper alignment and classical technique. A condition for joining the class is that students should attain a passing mark in an exam proving their mastery and knowledge of arabesque, epaulement, and other positions. A student should produce a pirouette and explore an a-la-seconde turn. The primary focus is on developing the elements of a dancer's technique, including strength, flexibility, and balance. This skill level indicates no indications of improper technique, such as hip-raising or sickling. Additionally, students demonstrate body control by managing their limbs and physical movements.
