Mademoiselle Dwyn's School of Dance. This family is one of the world's finest dance families. Mademoiselle began in 1982 under the leadership of Dwyn Y. Turner in Baton Rouge Louisiana and with help from her sister Wendy Turner. In 1997, after returning to their home countries, starting families, and completing their studies, the two reopened in New Orleans as partners. Our 24th anniversary in New Orleans is this year, and we are celebrating our 23rd dance recital. Mademoiselle nurtures the entire child with elegance and grace. We are proud to provide dance classes to young boys and girls. A dance teacher since 1989, Madame Dwyn is the MDSD owner and lead instructor. She is joined by Madame Wendy, a cheerleader and baton twirler who has joined her as a dance teacher and professional dancer. The MDSD Madames, along with Gwendolyn, a cheerleader and baton instructor at the time, form an expert company made up of decades of dancing experience. The ladies took dance classes from legends such as Frank Hatchet and Art Stone. The MDSD ladies are advisors to the Professional Dance Teachers Associations (PDTA), Dance/USA (National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts Incorporated), Dance Teacher Web (DTU/UNLV), Dance Teacher United, the National Dance Education Organization, and DELTA ETA PI DEP (Dance Honor Society). They also present the Dance Portfolios at the National Dance Society Conferences in Richmond Virginia and Baton Rouge Louisiana Shape America Southern District Conference. The MDSD Staff, Madame Dwyn, and Madame Wendy welcome you to 2022-2023, the "We Amour Dance" school year.
