Boston Ballet School

Boston Ballet celebrates its legacy and pushes the boundaries of dance. We stage a wide repertoire, from 19th-century staples to contemporary hits. We are headquartered in the refurbished Boston Opera House in Boston’s South End, with seating for 2,500. Our dancers come from 11 countries and are 69 strong, reflecting Boston’s world-class talent. The repertoire includes classic ballets like Swan Lake and A Midsummer Night's Dream by Mikko Balanchine. We also perform modern works such as A Midsummer Night's Dream by George Balanchine. Boston Ballet School, housed in Boston, Newton, and other branch schools, serves over 5000 youngsters. We cater to all ages and abilities, from toddlers to adults. We provide the highest quality training and education to aspiring dancers. The Department of Education and Community Initiatives serves 4000-plus individuals around Boston every year. Citydance, the free, 25-year-old Boston Public School third-grade introduction to the city’s dance scene, is a success story. We are a leading dance company, renowned worldwide for our productions, educational programs, and outreach initiatives. With over a half-century of service, we continue to make a lasting impact on our field by promoting quality and inclusivity.
