About Kingston Gallery Founded by artists in 1982, Kingston Gallery is named for its original location on Kingston Street, near Boston's Chinatown. The gallery moved to Thayer Street in the mid-1990s and is now a vital part of the thriving SoWa district of Boston's historic South End. The gallery has around twenty members who must pay annual dues and run the gallery. Kingston members are diverse and produce a wide range of contemporary art that challenges, excites, and illuminates. The gallery and its membership are continuously seeking creativity and innovation. The Kingston artists receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their work. Kingston's exhibitions are frequently featured in print and online publications, such as Art New England. Art in America. The Boston Globe. Artscope. Big Red & Shiny and the gallery's website. From front to back, the gallery is divided into three galleries: Main, Center, and Kingston Project Space. Gallery artists may exhibit guest artists' work in the Center Gallery with the Main galleries. Gallery artists can explore and experiment in the Center Gallery. The Kingston Project Space. Our members can only present a portion of their work at the gallery while using their space to explore and investigate.
