Most reviewers express contentment with the facility's attentive, high-quality care and report pets returning home happy and healthy. The staff's friendliness, passion for pets, and strong communication are repeatedly positive. Long-time client and newcomer reviews appreciate the competent grooming and boarding care provided. More than a few reviewers gush over one staff member's grooming skills, hoping to keep her as their pets' lifelong grooming specialist. A few reviews indicate that the care met searching and surpassing expectations, especially during very emotional times for pets and owners. Business is an excellent option, especially for people looking for a place to leave their pets for a while. Furthermore, an evaluation of how the place is kept shows that it is clean and always maintained. The business responsiveness and clients left out of the blue can still manage.

**This one star rating is regarding Presley (IG @styled_by_presley), dog groomer at Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa.
I was an employee in the grooming department at Red Dog Resort and Spa as a dog bather/groomer working directly with Presley. My term of employment began November, 2022 - January 20th, 2023.
As I worked with the dogs Presley grooms, I began noticing a pattern in their behavior when bathing and drying their heads. Many dogs would shy away from my hands and/or run to the corner of the tub and lean into the wall before I'd even touched them. I began adjusting my behaviors to accommodate this but thought it strange especially when Presley mentioned an experience with a dog having a "dryer seizure".
On January 19th 2023, I worked with a dog (Milo) who exhibited whale eyes and other anxious behaviors for his front legs and head. I decided to go easy on him with his topknot and head because we'd already worked long enough together to dry his front legs. He was overwhelmed. Presley finished drying his head by attaching him to a wall lead hook and grabbed his left ear. She held the force air dryer in her right hand and put the nozzle directly up to his face. Milo began to thrash back and forth while she held on, no adjustments were made to accommodate him. After finishing his ears, Presley held onto the hair in front of his topknot and used the dryer in the same way. He was scared, exhibiting whale eyes, glancing up at her sideways, thrashing to get away, legs straightening out, stiff while pulling back hard backwards. Presley kept going.
Upon confronting Presley about this, one statement she made stands out: "Have you nEVeR seen a dog forced to have his head dried?!" Never in all my five years of experience as a dog bather/groomer have I seen this sort of interaction. Regarding my own experience, I worked at West End Grooming with six groomers (each with their own specialties) and three bathers. My coworkers' experience grooming dogs spanned from five to thirty years. I have been trained in many grooming techniques and been exposed to the evolution of grooming because of the "small business", community approach in Austin, Tx.
To anyone that has had their doodle groomed by Presley, please use caution continuing. Your dog may come out looking adorable and may have experienced this during the process. A list of all the dogs I've bathed/dried for Presley is available should anyone desire it.
