About this business
YMCA International Learning Center (ILC) has taught English to immigrants and refugees since 1975, enhancing English literacy for families and adults and aiding New Americans in understanding American schools and workplaces. The classes are in classes with teachers at home and businesses in more than one. ILC offers services to immigrants and refugees at English proficiency levels ranging from the college level to zero. Participants enhance their English abilities and their capacity to survive and flourish in America. Two long-standing Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Adult and Community Learning Services, funded by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ACLS), are available (ACLS). The Education & Training Branch operates an ILC in Boston and Woburn. The ILC's goal is to provide immigrants and refugees with English for Speakers Other Languages (ESOL) classes and services.
