Nita. Sweedish massage. Was in extreme discomfort. Nita took excellent care of me and offered the right amount of pressure required in the massage techniques used. Walked out feeling good. Also liked the feeling of the ambiance. More reviews:

Several years I’ve had massages her. There are Thai, and Swedish, and deep tissue. My choice lately is the deep tissue, with Joy.

Obligatory second review for the best therapy place. I’ve seen a few therapists here and they are all great (shoutout to Megan and Joy). Stop reading and go! It’s the best place in town!

Megan is incredible! Deep tissue massage, had me relaxed and tingling in the best way possible. Amazing experience, thank you!
Joy is amazing! Their massage technique really loosened up my stressed lower back! The massage also tamed my stressed upper shoulders. I highly recommend anyone to come for a deep tissue massage with hot stones!

I’m conflicted as I write this review. Every part of me wants to gatekeep this place, but it’s just too good not to spread the word!
Over the past 9 years, I've received 8-12 massages a year. They've been from solo-practitioners, small businesses, Massage Envy, Elements, hotel massages, a beachside massage in Aruba, and a Turkish bath massage in Istanbul. The best massage I've ever had, by far, was from Nita at Cloud9 Massage & Wellness in Somerville's Teele Square.
I’m a fitness junkie! I lift weights and do cardio 5 days a week, averaging 2-3 hours a day. I’m also a Preschool teacher, so I’m always up on my feet, picking up the kiddos, squatting down to change diapers and apply countless Band-Aids. My body is pretty much always broken; knots and tightness plague me. (And of course, yes, I stretch and I take rest days!!) I find massage to be a significant and excellent form of self-care, and the money is well worth it!
I always book the 55-minute, Cloud9 Signature massage. Nita uses a mix of deep tissue and Thai massage. I’ve never actually seen it, but I would bet she uses hot stones. Just tell her the areas that are your biggest problem areas, your preferred pressure (weak, medium, firm, deep), and she’ll take it from there. My personal favorite is the scalp massage! (See the attached photo - crazy hair, don't care! But you know that the scalp massage is good when your hair looks like this, LOL! Seriously, such a funny picture, and shows you that the scalp massage is THAT good, HAHAHA! But I must say, my hair already looked like this before my haircut, LOLLLLLL! But in all seriousness, it's one of the best parts of the massage!) If you want a light pressure massage it’s not going to be very relaxing per se, if you want a massage where you’re gently rubbed to sleep, then Massage Envy in Arlington is your place.
Their facility is straightforward and clean. I also believe, but have not seen, any studios may have bars on the ceiling so the therapist can use their feet to massage. (My husband, who is at least twice my size, gets this type of massage during his appointments. I have not received that or don't remember, LOL.) The staff is very nice and accommodating, and I believe there’s a $10 discount if you pay in cash. Parking is free on-street parking, but honestly, if you’re a Somerville resident, then everyone knows you’re parking on the side streets.
My review is mainly for Nita in terms of massage, but if you care about facials, then I highly recommend Kate! I believe Kate is also a massage therapist, but I’ve personally only used her for facials – which I loved! If Kate can do massages as good as she does facials, (which I wouldn’t put past her,) then I suggest you book her for a massage too!
