In 1929, a man with a vision and a heart filled with ambition and zeal named Blair Coiner started a company. The nation was still reeling from the Great Depression, yet he dared to dream big. However, it was not rainbows and sunshine. The firm thrived as the proprietor sold car parts to dealers, garages, and service stations. It started as a small shop, but its scope multiplied as the business grew. The Model T 1 ton truck serviced a route that passed from Winchester in Virginia to North Carolina. “The dealer service provided by this Model T is of the highest quality at all times. The parts are inspected before leaving our warehouse. We stand behind each order. And if there should be a mistake, we will cheerfully correct it (How It All Started).” The year 1933 would also mark the era when "door to door" service was initiated. Six specially-constructed trucks were used to transport hundreds of spare parts to their clients. The trucks also had some mobile machine-shop services that could help repair minor issues for the clients. There were also self-educated salesmen who could travel routes which could keep them away for up to one week. The routes passed through remote rural areas that had limited access to the replacement parts. 1941 would mark a significant milestone for the company as the number of employees had increased to 18, managing to service about 800 wholesale accounts. However, training and education were fundamental to success (How It All Started). Buses loaded with employees and customers for a trip to the manufacturer's facility for updated training. This act showed that the clients were committed to performing beyond their responsibilities (How It All Started). Fisher Auto Parts started with only sixty locations and employed 300 installers by 1983. The company initially was called Coiner Parts, proving its authenticity from the founder (How It All Started). The founder worked tirelessly to maintain the firm to provide the best service to the professional installers. However, he had to face many challenges.
