My experience with a lawyer, Alejandra Ureta Martinez, handling my immigration case was extremely disappointing. When you hire a professional, especially one with a degree and a title, you expect expertise, as well as basic customer service, respect, and human compassion. Unfortunately, none of that was present here. As soon as our case began, the lawyer felt dismissive. Every question I had seemed like a bother, and instead of assurance or guidance, I received attitude and empathetic detachment. Immigration is stressful, emotional, and life-changing. The least a lawyer can do is show empathy and patience. What I took away from this experience is that while skills can be learned and degrees can be obtained, empathy and compassion cannot. Either they are present; you have them or you don't. My experience made it apparent that this law office lacks both. I expected a professional but received anything but that. I was excited to receive a referral, even when I understand they might not take the case in the end. And because they couldn't take on my case, the positive surprise turned into tremendous disappointment. But that wasn't the most disturbing part ... the fact that I was referred to Pennsylvania phone number and called, only to be told that you're in an entirely different state so we cant even help you... what kind of professional does that to a potential client? 4. It was a pleasant experience with Jonathan Portner and Grace Chung who had provided me great support for my auto accident claim. I have never been in this process before, but with the help of Grace, it was very easy and efficient. So thankful and recommended.
