DO NOT TRUST MAINE PLASTIC SURGERY OR DR. JASON GARDENIER – THEY WILL RUIN YOUR FACE AND GASLIGHT YOU INTO THINKING IT’S NORMAL. I had the absolute worst experience at Maine Plastic Surgery, and I strongly warn anyone considering surgery here to STAY AWAY—unless you want to be botched twice and left with permanent damage. Dr. Jason Gardenier performed a chin implant procedure on me, and he completely screwed it up the first time. The implant "slipped" under my chin instead of sitting properly on top, which meant I had to go through another surgery just to fix his mistake. After the second surgery, I was left with horrible nerve pain and numbness, which has barely improved after TWO YEARS. But the worst part? This office is actively trying to control the conversation and keep information from me. When I asked for my options in writing—like any normal medical office should provide—they flat-out refused and insisted I come back for another in-person or zoom appointment with the surgeon. After everything they’ve put me through, they’re now stalling, gatekeeping information, and refusing to put anything in writing—all to protect themselves, not to help me as a patient. And waste even more of my time. I had to chase them down just to get answers that I was promised, and even then, they made it my problem by saying, “Well, you don’t know what direction you want to go in. It would be a really long email.” Excuse me? How am I supposed to know what to do when you refuse to tell me the financial costs and risks of my options?! After two surgeries with this MONSTER I am well aware of how he conducts his appointments and the complete lack of information he provides. My very first appointment at this place they made me take my shirt off because they were too lazy to check their notes to realize wasn't there for a boob job. But the CRAZIEST part? I asked him what the chances were of permanent nerve damage at that same appointment. I saw a tik tok about a girl experiencing it and was curious what the chances were it could happened to me. He brushed it right off and told me the chances were slim because he "knows what he's doing." That's rich. When discussing my options there was really only one solution I was given - taking the implant out. After thousands of dollars and years in recovery, I get to go back to having the insecurity that brought me into this sad excuse of a business in the first place. Except now I have surgical scars and permanent nerve damage. I called Maine Plastic and Hand for a second opinion and they told me they get calls about Jason and his botched work all the time. DO NOT LET THIS MAN OPERATE ON YOU. This office does not care about their patients. They botched my face, gave me lasting nerve damage, and now refuse to provide basic medical transparency. Their tactics are shady, their lack of professionalism is appalling, and I genuinely wish I had never trusted them with my face. If you’re considering a procedure here, please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else—somewhere that actually cares about patient safety, accountability, and basic ethics.
