The College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph MN, awarded Barbara degrees in Management and Spanish; during her junior college year, she studied abroad in Madrid. Before she went to law school, Barbara worked at Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C., for five years as an Assistant and Desk Officer. Barbara was a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica for two years.
