James hails from Northern Indiana, where he completed his Electrical Engineering course at Purdue University. Besides, he has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St Paul, MN. James, a Marine Corps Reserves veteran, also served in Operation Desert Storm. James has an extensive engineering background. James was a Rosemount Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer. James later worked for Beckman Coulter as a Supplier Quality Engineer and then, in 2008, joined Boston Scientific as a Quality Engineer. Recently, James chose to relive his love for solar energy, the interest that initially inspired him to study Electrical Engineering. In 2008, James completed his solar system training at Solar Energy International in Colorado and launched Solar Farm, LLC, an idea he had nursed over the years. James is a co-founder of the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society and a charter member of Minnesota Solar Energy Industry Association. He has shared his expertise by teaching the "Intro to Solar Power" course. James continues to expand his knowledge by attending multiple seminars, workshops, and solar events. He eagerly awaits the annual Energy Fair at Custer, WI. James likes staying active, especially canoeing in the summer and cross-country skiing during the winter. James finds relaxation in Judo, where he has attained a black belt in the martial arts. Besides, he practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. James has always supported organic farming. James has participated in the Sustainable Farming Association, where he converted 18 acres of conventional farmland to organic production.
