About this business

Niebling’s History Although the 21st-century NIEBLING AUTO BODY is situated in a metropolitan area, its history was far from the pavement. Louis Niebling, a German immigrant and wagon maker, came to America in 1887 and settled in a village west of St. Louis. Local people used horses, wagons, and chariots for transportation until rich and eccentric people began buying gasoline-powered cars. However, these machines were loud, expensive, and cantankerous, which made people desire them. The St. Louis Car Company, nearest to Louis Niebling Carriage and Wagon Manufacturing, where Louis Niebling worked, started manufacturing American Mors cars a year later under license from a French company (yet the chasses were made in the U.S.). Louis worked at the wagon business and helped build the Mors body. The car cost from $3,000 to $6,000, while the salary was $40. Erwin, Louis' first son (born in 1906), joined the company around this time. As they noticed the decline in wagon manufacturing, they moved to 5208 South Kingshighway, a residential neighborhood, in 1927. This shop was also the home of Erwin’s sons. Ray and Warren Niebling, born in and around this area, grew up here and became part of their father after units in World War II. The business continued after just Erwin’s sons as they became partners until they opened 4111 Meramec in 1968, managed by Warren. Erwin joined the sons in the 1950s and became a partner after they opened 4111 Meramec. This became a fruitful venture due to its location. It is crucial to note that this venture has been at the forefront of all aspects of its operations, leading to its recognition by relevant organizations. Proof of this is from the National Association of Carriage Builders, the Automotive Service Association, and the I-Car Gold Certification. Only a few things would be familiar to great-grandfather Niebling: sounds from the body shop that could remind him of a smithy. However, with over 120 years of existence, the company has made a significant milestone. Case Analysis: Niebling Auto Body

Reviews Summary

Niebling Auto Body receives rave reviews from customers, with many praising David and his team for their exceptional work. The company is known for their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond. They can be exceptionally accommodating when customers have a short deadline or unusual circumstances. In one case, a customer damaged a car bumper and was convinced that replacing the whole thing would be costly. Because the shop took the time to examine the car carefully, they were able to establish that only a particular part required changing. Being upfront and knowledgeable is another of their strengths, and they have saved a lot of money for many customers who came to them for a second opinion. They follow up and gave updates on time, and they have supported their work with a great aftercare service. A business that fixes cars correctly and commits to excellent customer service.
