On July 22, 2026 I hired attorney Brooke Johnson of Ley Law to represent me in the mediation of a separation agreement. On that date, I paid $6,500, in addition to $200 for the initial consultation. ($1500 of that I immediately lost when I hired them per their policy). Given that substantial payment, I expected timely communication, meaningful legal counsel, and professional service. My experience fell far short of those expectations. Throughout the representation, I received no communication from Mrs. Johnson unless I initiated it, and responses often came days later. I did not receive the substantive legal advice I needed to understand my options and protect my interests. From my perspective, her approach appeared to be simply following requests from my wife’s attorney rather than explaining those requests, discussing alternatives, and advising me on how to respond. I terminated their services on September 3 after I had scheduled a phone call with my attorney on September 3. The office contacted me the morning of my telephone appointment with my attorney needing to delay the appointment by 30 minutes, which I agreed to. My attorney never called me! I waited half the day. Then when I called the office to find out what had happened with my appointment and why I did not receive a call from my attorney, I was given no explanation, no apology. The missed telephone appointment on September 3 ultimately led me to terminate her services. I wasted the majority of a day to be available for this phone consultation which never happened. My frustration increased when I received the final invoice and saw charges associated with these events. I was charged fees to speak with the receptionist at the front desk for the following phone calls: • My September 2 call, which was solely to request an appointment to speak with my attorney. • The charge for my September 3 call asking why the scheduled telephone appointment had not occurred that day. • My phone call on September 3 requesting to terminate services. Poor communication, over inflated fees, and unprofessional treatment Being charged for calls made to arrange an appointment, address a missed appointment, and terminate services after that failure is particularly troubling. I did contact the office on September 18th, 2026, after paying the charges of over $600 on my account, expressing my dissatisfaction but I have not received a response of of today, September 25.
