Client Review Spotlight We hired this law firm two years ago and paid $2500 up front for a custody case. Things changed, and we needed emergency custody. The firm asked for another $1500, so we have paid $4000 thus far. Nothing has happened since our lawyer, who was running for Supreme Court judge, has left us hanging. I feel abandoned and cheated, especially because I was told another $1000 will be collected for anything else they do after already collecting double what was to be paid. Moreover, my spouse and I figured out that the opposing party has had undocumented discussions with our lawyer. This adds another layer of distrust and anger. Furthermore, they have informed us that our lawyer has failed to address a violation of the temporary custody agreement by the opposing party. When asked, he merely said, "I will talk to them," leaving us without legal action (White, n.d.).
