He did a transitional year internship at UC San Francisco. He then moved to Stanford, where he was a dermatology resident from 1994 to 1997. Matt’s wife, Theresa, is a pediatrician at the Wake County Department of Pediatrics, and he volunteers there as a dermatologist. Theresa has received a Presidential Service Award for this work. A father of three sons, Dr. Flynn is the dermatologist for the Carolina Hurricanes. Dr. Flynn has written half a dozen medical Board reviews and other books.
