Message #3 I was the seller in a transaction where my buyer chose to use Keel Lassiter Law Firm. We were scheduled to close on the townhouse on a Thursday. I didn't know the closing wasn't happening that day until after 3 p.m. I was told it would take place on Monday since Friday was a federal holiday. On the Monday, I was once again notified after 3 p.m. that the closing didn't happen because the buyer still didn't have their mortgage documents in order. They finally completed the closing on Tuesday morning, and the keys were handed over to the buyer. Later that afternoon, I received an adjusted financial statement from Keel Lassiter with the seller’s payout amount reduced due to the buyer’s delay. I took exception to this since I wasn’t responsible for the delay and the keys had already been handed over to the buyer. Fortunately, after speaking with one of the attorneys, they agreed to honor the original payout amount. Over a week went by, and I still hadn't received my check from Keel Lassiter. I contacted FedEx and was informed that the address was incorrect on the letter and the shipper would have to contact them to correct it. Keel Lassiter admitted it was a "CLERICAL" error when I reached out to them and promised to reissue the check. The next day, I received both letters. These are the facts – you can decide if you want a law firm representing you that doesn’t seem to pay attention to detail.
